This miniature model (similar in size to an audio cassette in its case) replaced the ICF-SW1. The folding design meant that the LCD display could be made larger and more informative and that the loudspeaker could be ported to improve the sound quality. Text copyright © Walkman Central. For such a small set the feature list was impressive, in particular the inclusion of synchronous detection and single sideband selection (SW). There were also 50 memories for station storage and once stored the stations could be named using the alpha-numeric keypad. FM stations could be received in stereo through either headphones or a line level output, making the ICF-SW100 suitable for use as a high quality miniature radio tuner for a Hi-Fi system.
