This “designer styled” model looked sleek and modern with its smooth edges, pastel colours and flowing curves, though really it was just a reworking of the black, boxy WM-34. This meant that it was mechanically similar to the WM-33 and had facilities for normal/metal tape types and Dolby B noise reduction. Each colour of Walkman was matched with a specially co-ordinated pair of headphones, similar to the MDR-005 “roadrunner” type. Even the cable was coloured to match. Text copyright © Walkman Central.
