WM-BF22, picture by Nick Jarman

This model was a WM-B10 with an AM/FM stereo radio added. The case was constructed in a similarly flimsy fashion, though the appearance was made more interesting by adding some shiny chrome to the cassette door trim in a distinctive squared pattern. The radio gave good results and was economical of battery power, though the cassette section was designed for basic playback only. Interestingly, some WM-BF22s were fitted with an elaborate disc type motor, which was rather better than the rest of the mechanism deserved. Text copyright © Walkman Central.
